We love deformers! These change the shape and structure of primitives without being destructive.

What is a deformer?

Deformer objects deform the geometry of other objects. They can be used on primitives, Generators, polygonal objects, and splines. In order for a deformer to take effect, it must be made a child of the object you wish to manipulate in the hierarchy of the Object Manager.

Tips for using deformers

Fitting to Parent

If your object isn't deforming as intended, go to "Fit to Parent" in the deformer's Object Properties panel to make the deformer fit to its parent object.

Deformers and Geometry

If your object isn't deforming quite right, you may need to adjust the available geometry for the deformer to affect. In the example above, adding more height segments to the cylinder object helps the bend deformer do its job.

Types of deformers in Cinema 4D Lite

Bend

The Bend deformer bends an object, which can be useful for animation as well as attaining a particular curve in your models.

Bulge

Bulge deformers can be used to either bulge or contract an object.
